In addition to our pre-license course, the Georgia Real Estate School offers very comprehensive, quick-moving, Continuing Education Courses carefully tailored for the needs and concerns of today’s real estate professional.

These classes include:

COURSE 1

Effective Negotiating” -- This 3-hour course is specifically designed to increase and enhance the professionalism of any real estate salesperson. With sharpened negotiating skills, you can effectively influence your clients and exert better control over your time & resources. This course provides you a solid foundation in negotiation theory, techniques and styles. You’ll learn when to negotiate, how to successfully prepare for the negotiating process, how to enhance your own negotiating skills & abilities, and how to achieve quality results in any environment. The course provides an exciting blend of key, contemporary information with small-group interaction to develop participants’ knowledge and understanding of the negotiating process. Plus, each participant has the opportunity to take a self-assessment device to determine their own individual negotiating style, and how to maximize that style into effective techniques and strategies. “Effective Negotiating” is facilitated by a highly-qualified and enthusiastic former Kennesaw State University Adjunct Professor with a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology, who is also a realtor for Georgia Elite Realty.

COURSE 2

Effective Communication” -- An exciting, and highly comprehensive overview of interpersonal communications in today’s real estate business! The course gives participants a solid foundation in communication theory & dynamics, barriers, listening skills, and differences of communication styles. Attendees will learn the Six Steps of Communication to enhance their individual communicative skills and abilities, to achieve quality results in relating to clients and peers alike. You will be provided a comprehensive self-assessment instrument to determine your own personal communication style, and to recognize & react to other styles within the real estate arena. Also, the course covers the unique background and differences between today’s generations—Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y. You’ll learn the influences and communications preferences of each, to more readily communicate across generational lines. “Effective Communication” is an excellent resource for real estate professionals to refine their communicative skills. The 3-hour course is facilitated by a highly-qualified and enthusiastic former Kennesaw State University Adjunct Professor with a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology, who is also a realtor for Georgia Elite Realty.

COURSE 3 (Coming Soon)

Effective Conflict Resolution” – Our newest course is loaded with key information and self-assessment tools critical for every real estate professional! This course provides methods, techniques and strategies to build skills in resolving conflict at many different levels. You’ll be able to communicate better, listen, assert, persuade, and argue constructively. Through facilitated guidance and group interaction, attendees can understand how differences in personality, gender roles, and business expectations can contribute to conflict. Course participants will learn productive ways of dealing with anger, stress, and other negative feelings, and recognize how to balance emotion and intellect to resolve conflict. The class will enable attendees to understand themselves better, determine best responses to different conflict scenarios, and how interpersonal behavior affects others. You’ll now be able to separate ego from issues and personalities from problems, and become much more effective in successfully dealing with controversy and conflict. This 3-hour “Effective Conflict Resolution” course is facilitated by a highly-qualified and enthusiastic former Kennesaw State University Adjunct Professor with a doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology, who is also a realtor for Georgia Elite Realty.

Terry Clark Director, The Georgia Real Estate School

Terry Clark.jpgAs Director of The Georgia Real Estate School, Terry Clark provides a unique blend of real estate expertise with extensive academic experience. Terry has achieved strong success in the real estate community, serving as a licensed agent for 26 years. He is currently an associate broker with Georgia Elite Realty, and Owner/Broker for Terry Clark Real Estate, LLC.

His knowledge of the Atlanta real estate market is unparalleled— he worked with Northside Realty as an active agent for 8 years, and followed his outstanding achievements with RE/MAX, serving as a licensed agent and associate broker for 15 additional years.

Terry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from LaGrange College, GA., in 1971 and earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Emory University, in 1979. His remarkable ability to communicate with people at all levels in any environment makes him highly effective as a teacher, facilitator, and Director of The Georgia Real Estate School.

Terry has performed as an active faculty member within the University System of Georgia for over 20 years, and has taught comprehensive Real Estate Pre-Licensing Courses for the past six years. He was an adjunct associate professor at Clayton State College and at Kennesaw State University, providing students his special blend of academic excellence and humor, creating a highly enthusiastic atmosphere for learning and growing in the real estate business.

Dr. Gary L. Shoemaker, Ed.D.

Gary Shoemaker.jpgAs a previous Fortune 100 Corporation Senior Talent Development Manager, Dr. Gary L. Shoemaker is an innovative, experienced, and highly effective leader. His design and implementation of Georgia-Pacific’s Succession Planning and Competency Assessment Programs achieved unprecedented success, and significantly contributed to the growth of G-P’s executive leadership within their Atlanta Corporation Headquarters.

Dr. Shoemaker culminated his 30-year U.S. Air Force career as a colonel, with widely varied management positions in intelligence, personnel, education, and training. He served extensively in the Pacific Theater, from Vietnam, Okinawa, Korea, to Hawaii. He performed as a personnel staff officer in key leadership assignments throughout the Air Force, including the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.

As commander for three separate major command non-commissioned officer academy and leadership school systems, Dr. Shoemaker was in constant demand as a tactical & strategic planner, team developer, and motivational speaker.

Dr. Shoemaker graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry, and received his Masters Degree in Counseling from Stetson University. His Doctorate in Counseling Psychology with concentration in human resources development was earned from George Washington University.

Dr. Shoemaker served as a Leadership & Management Consultant and Adjunct Professor with Kennesaw State University’s Continuing Education Program, teaching a comprehensive variety of business and management courses. He received his Georgia real estate salesperson license in 2006, and is an active realtor with Georgia Elite Realty in Kennesaw, Ga, providing a wide variety of challenging Continuing Education Courses for The Georgia Real Estate School.

Blending a wide range of professional experience and expertise with his uplifting sense of humor, Dr. Shoemaker is a remarkably effective instructor, facilitator, and articulate communicator.
